Mellow-Wildhorse, Scorpian, Scorpian Alley, Stinger Loop East and High Noon Trails

This hike is mainly a loop hike. It connects segments of several trails starting and ending with a segment of the Wildhorse trail. The hike is located in the lower Tonto/Hawes hiking/biking area with the NRA Pit Trailhead accessed from North Usery Pass Road. The trails are mainly crushed rock/sand with several areas of larger rocks. Most trails are narrow in width. Hiking poles recommended. The hike is generally gradual with lots of ups and downs. Scenery is typical low desert foliage.

Driving Directions:
East on Riggs to McQueen, north on McQueen to the 202E. Stay on the 202 to Exit #27 (University Dr.), turn right on University to Ellsworth (This will be the first street you come to after you are at University). Turn left on Ellsworth (eventually becomes North Usery Pass Rd.) and continue to pass Usery Park. The NRA Pit Trailhead will be on your left , just pass mile marker 23 and about 2.5 miles from the entrance to Usery Park. There is no TH sign, just parking.

NOTE: There are no facilities at the trailhead. After you exit the 202 there are Circle K and QT gas stations on the NE and SE corner of University and Ellsworth. This will be shortly after you exit the 202.
