Description: Loop
The first mile of the hike is a gradual rise on a trail that was is one of the smoothest trail surfaces in South Mountain. The next .25 mile is a fairly steep climb that includes some rock scrambling to the top where the trail crosses the Bursera Trail. From there the trail descends to the valley floor and continues a gradual rise to circle back to the parking lot. On the way back to the trailhead, we will visit the remaining structure of The Lost Ranch.
Like all the South Mountain hikes the trail consists of loose rocks and uneven surfaces so good hiking shoes and poles are recommended.
