We have changed this last hike of the season due to concerns about the heat. The Holbert trail in South Mountain is mostly in the shade and is a pleasant hike when the weather is hot.

Hike Description:
Holbert Trail is a steady and scenic climb to Dobbins Lookout. Along the way we’ll see good city views. Numerous petroglyphs can be seen on the valley floor on the way to the climb portion of the hike.
Driving Directions: Type "Holbert Trail" into Google maps or: take I-10 to Baseline Rd. exit then head West on Baseline until South Central Ave. Take a left on South Central towards S. Mountain and follow that into "Phoenix South Mountain Park". Once through the gate, take your first left to head towards the back of the large parking lot next to the temporary construction fence. There are porta potties at the lot.
