- NATIONAL TRAILS DAY! LET'S HIKE INTO HONEYMOON ISLAND AND CHECK IT OUT!Needs location
It's National Trails Day! So let's check out the Osprey Trail at Honeymoon Island! address: One Causeway Blvd, Dunedin, FL
We will meet at 9:30 and leave the parking lot no later than 9:45 so that we can get to the Osprey Trail in time for the 11 am Ranger guided hike.
We will park on the Honeymoon Island Causeway, the last parking lot on the left before you get to the park, I will have signs out. Look for them before you get to the entrance to the park
Then walk into the park, $2.00 entrance fee for pedestrians.
It's about half a mile walk to the park entrance and a 3 mile loop in the park. So, about 4-5 miles total..We can stop at the nature center and check it out then walk to the trailhead.
There is a ranger led hike at 11 am at the trailhead,,so we will want to attend that and learn interesting facts about the park! We did this hike in February and it was really great! Also, the eagles should be gone by then so we will be able to walk the entire trail.
We will walk back to our cars, then..drive to:
Optional lunch afterwards at Molly Goodheads ,,400 Orange St
Ozona, FL 34683, 5 ish minute drive... I haven't been there in ages and it's a great FL favorite! My phone number on day of hike-- 727-946-1048
Bring plenty of water, snack and whatever you need for a comfortable hike
Hope to see you there!
