LET US GIVE THANKS!

We will have our traditional pre Thanksgiving hike and camp weekend Nov 21nd to the 23rd at Little Manatee River State Park.

No cost primitive group camping will be available in the Group Campsite for Friday and Saturday nights. There are no facilities and restrooms are a 10 minute walk or short drive.

Those who would like to have closer access to restrooms, or more space, often make reservations in the family site. Normal camp fees apply. Reserve through Florida State Parks site.

SATURDAY MORNING: David DuGay wil be leading an approx 3 mile hike at the trailhead, located at he main trail on US hwy 301 on Saturday morning at 9:00 am,

The trail head is on the west side of hwy 301. It is 2.6 miles south of the intersection of 301

This trail is one that Suncoast FTA maintains.
It is a beautiful trail and we want everyone to get a taste of it....especially if you have never been here!

We will finish by no later than noon -ish so we can all be back in time for lunch.

THANKSGIVING POTLUCK LUNCH!!

Saturday afternoon potluck feast..will be at Pavilion #1 down by the river , signs will be posted!

FTA will be providing 28 pounds of yummy turkey, and some fixin's.

Please bring a dish to pass , PLEASE, not a pie or dessert, instead, consider veggie tray, fruit tray, biscuits, etc, thanks!

Plus a $10 donation is requested to cover costs..
After lunch will be our Chapter meeting and Chapter election.

All day Friday and Saturday afternoon will be on your own with paddling, hiking, biking available.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON/EVENING: There may be a hike, or 2 possibly Dude Lake for an evening/sunset hike, easy walk from the campground!!

SATURDAY evening: group campfire at the group campsite. Bring firewood & a chair & good stories to share

Feel free to post comments to organize independent paddle, bike, hike outings.

SUNDAY morning breakfast in the group camping area. about 8:30-ish , FTA will be providing eggs, bacon, bread and butter.. please bring a dish to share and an FTA donation.
