Independence Day Little Manatee River Paddle

Details

My plan is to paddle the upper portion of the LMR, from CR 579 to Canoe Outpost. This route is dependent on the water levels. If acceptable, Canoe Outpost will shuttle us to the 579 bridge, and we will paddle back to the Outpost. If not, we will launch at the Outpost and paddle upstream at our own pace, then paddle back to the Outpost.

Be prepared and flexible for the conditions. Some paddling experience is required. The upper portion can be difficult at times, and we may spend much of the first half of the trip going under and over down tree branches at a slow pace and will need everyone's cooperation. This section can be a moderate paddle at times, with multiple blow downs to navigate around.

Each participant is required to have a USCG approved life jacket (PFD) and sound signaling device (such as an airhorn or whistle) to attend this event, and must comply with all state laws for operating a canoe or kayak.
