Details
This will be a paved 8 Mile Loop Trail.
- Once around the loop and back to the parking area, it will be 8 miles, if everyone feels like it we can do the extra 4 mile out and back to BBD for 12 miles.
- Please arrive with your bicycle ready to ride and check your air pressure. Helmets are strongly suggested.
- This is a slow easy ride average speed 12 mph, More of a chat and ride with some exercise.
All bicycles and skill levels are welcomed, but you must be able to ride the full 8 miles. There are no shortcuts back to the parking lot.
We will meet at the rangers station by the kiosk . There is a $2 parking fee, and the machine does not give change. You will need two singles or a credit card. Trailhead has restrooms and water, and the Flatwoods loop has 4 water stations along the trail. But, please have water to start the ride with. They have 2 parking lots at this entrance.
There is no shade on the paved trail. We are surrounded by woods and often see wildlife, but we will also encounter many cyclists, rollerblades, runners, and walkers. The rule of announcing "on your left" is something we follow.
