St. Pete Pier 6K Group Walk

Start Point: Shelter near rest rooms at Demens Landing Park, Bayshore Dr. & 2nd Ave. (525-549 2nd Ave SE), St. Petersburg. Lost? 727-542-9742.
Time: Register at 8:30 a.m. for 8:45 a.m. walk start. Look for 3 or 4 hour parking spots at east end (Tampa ahead) of park.
Fees: $3 walk fee; free for kids. Sandpiper and AVA coupons are good.
Route: From the waterfront Demens Landing Park, we head to the St. Pete Pier and the new statue of Babe Ruth, poised—and calling the shot—in front of the History Center. After a group shot, it’s off to a tour of the pier and the stunning sculpture of the Benoist Airboat. From there, we return through town back to the park.
Meal: It’s off to The Hangar to enjoy breakfast/lunch as we gaze at aircraft activity on the flightline.
Heat advisory: Much of walk is unshaded; please wear a hat and carry water. We’ll do our best to find cover along the way!
