The Sunday Alternative - Listening

Details

The Sunday Alternative returns on March 27th at The Rising Sun Arts Centre.

It's been a long, painful two years. We started to think the Assembly was a thing of the past - another victim of COVID. But the coffee mornings, attracting 30+ people, have demonstrated there is still a demand for a community like us, perhaps now an even stronger one.

In the returning Assembly, we talk about Listening To The Young - a skill we all need to work on. The band, with a few new members, will be knocking out 4 classic singalong songs. There will be games and there will be cakes. Just like it always was.

About The Sunday Alternative

The Sunday Alternative is a SECULAR congregation that celebrates life, meeting once a month in Reading. Members of the Assembly believe in Living Better, Helping Often and Wondering More, for no other reason than to make the most of the one life we know we have. In the company of a lovely diverse bunch of people, the morning is a lively combination of group singing, silly games, interesting words, and cake eating.

The Sunday Alternative welcomes all - of all ages and all backgrounds.

The Sunday Alternative is free to attend and runs entirely on donations.

The best way to meet new people is to come early and enjoy some tea, coffee, homemade cakes and savouries (vegan-friendly).

We are conscious, as restart, that we are low on volunteers. The success of the Assembly depends on your help. Those who help, in any way, get the most from the Assembly. If you want to make friends, then a joint venture is ideal. Contact us now or arrive a bit earlier on the day and we'll find you something fun to do.

The Assembly is at the Rising Sun Arts Centre (new venue). The Centre is smaller than we would like so we are being extra careful on numbers. Please mark your attendance so we don't disappoint anyone on the day.

Doors open at 10:30 am for teas and chats. The Assembly begins at 11 am and ends about 12:15 am. The more coffee and cakes until 1 pm.
