Sunday Assembly Sacramento

Sunday Assembly is a secular congregation that meets once a month to share our stories, create community, and learn from our experiences. Everyone is valued and welcome here.

Sunday Assembly Sacramento is held in the Reason Center at 1300 Ethan Way, Suite 675 toward the back of the building. As always, families are welcome and child care is provided. The doors open at 10:30 am and the program will begin at 11:00 am.

Our speaker for January is Amanda McCarthy representing Sacramento's own River City Food Bank.

Amanda McCarthy is a University of Oregon graduate with a degree in Journalism, driven by a mission to build healthier, more equitable communities. For more than two decades, she has championed food security, leading hunger relief efforts across California and Washington. Her career spans leadership in nonprofit management and community engagement, always aligning her work with her values of compassion and empowerment.

As Executive Director of River City Food Bank, Amanda focuses on innovative, results-driven solutions to support those in need. When she’s not advancing the food bank’s mission, Amanda enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family, including her husband of more than 20 years, their two teenage sons, and their dog, Sheldon. Amanda’s dedication to fostering positive change is at the heart of everything she does.

This month it is time for our annual meeting, and in lieu of our Doing Your Best, our Treasurer, Emily, will share our financial status, and we will be electing new board members. We will also have our usual potluck lunch and social time. Please bring a dish to share unless you are a newcomer. Donuts and coffee are provided. Hope to see you there!
