Sunday Assembly Sacramento
Details
Sunday Assembly is a non-religious congregation that meets once a month to share our stories, create community, and learn from our experiences. We are inclusive and everyone is valued here.
Our November speaker will be Angela Hassell, MSW, Executive Director of Sacramento Loaves and Fishes.
Sacramento Loaves and Fishes is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has dedicated over 40 years to providing barrier-free survival services and radical hospitality to the unhoused community in Sacramento. Founded in 1983 by activists Chris and Dan Delany, the organization began by serving sandwiches out of a car trunk. Today, it has grown into a vital 4.5-acre campus on North C Street, serving nearly 1,000 adults and children daily.
Driven by a philosophy of compassion and unconditional respect, Loaves & Fishes treats those who seek assistance as "guests" rather than clients. To maintain complete independence and eliminate bureaucratic barriers, the organization accepts zero government funding, operating entirely through private and individual community donations. Across its campus, Loaves & Fishes operates 16 daily specialized programs designed to preserve dignity and meet essential survival needs.
Sunday Assembly Sacramento is held in the Reason Center at 1300 Ethan Way, Suite 675 toward the back of the building. As always, families are welcome. The doors open at 10:30 am and the program will begin at 11:00 am.
We will have a speaker, a short Doing Your Best presentation by a member, and a potluck. Please bring a dish to share unless you are a newcomer. Donuts and coffee are provided. Hope to see you there!
