Infants' breathing style is Danjeon breathing. They breathe peacefully deep down to their lower belly. Their breathing is still focused on creating life force. It is not only about oxigen. If you observe babies' breathing, you will understand what the sheer connectedness with spirit is like. It is no wonder that in many cultures the words for spirit and breath are the same.

As we grow, we develop more thoughts/desires and our breathing focus moves up from belly to chest. By moving our focus of breathing to lower belly and cultivating the center of life force, Danjeon, we can develop solid sense of peacefullness and vitality.
