Details
ADVECTION Bay Area Photo Walk — Middle Harbor Shoreline Park to Port View Pier
📍 Coastal Trail Parking Lot → Port View Pier
📅 Saturday, June 6, 2026
⏰ 10:00 AM
Join ADVECTION Bay Area for a waterfront photo walk through one of Oakland’s most underrated coastal locations. We’ll begin at the Coastal Trail parking lot inside Middle Harbor Shoreline Park and walk together toward Port View Pier, capturing the industrial landscapes, port activity, skyline views, and unique atmosphere of the Oakland waterfront along the way.
This route offers incredible opportunities for photography featuring the Port of Oakland cranes, Bay Bridge views, passing ships, shoreline textures, and wide-open perspectives of the Bay Area. Whether you shoot digital, film, drone (where permitted), or mobile photography, this walk is all about exploring composition, light, and the character of the East Bay waterfront.
We’ll move at a relaxed pace with stops along the trail to shoot and connect with fellow creatives. Expect a mix of industrial, landscape, urban, and cinematic photography opportunities throughout the walk.
Important:
Please arrive a few minutes early so everyone can gather before we begin. We will begin walking promptly at 10:10 AM.
What to bring:
• Camera (digital, film, or phone)
• Comfortable walking shoes
• Water
• Layers — waterfront winds can get chilly
• Your creative perspective
This event is open to all skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just looking to explore the Bay with other creatives, everyone is welcome.
Hosted by ADVECTION Bay Area — documenting the movement, landscapes, and identity of the Bay through photography.
