And of course we will be seeing the other wonders of the Valley including the magnificent Merced River, Half Dome and El Capitan. Being the spring time of the year as the snow melts in the highlands, visiting these falls will be a world class hiking experience!

ABOUT THE HIKES:

Friday afternoon.... Mirror Lake.... We meetup (RSVP REQUIRED) at 4 PM at the entrance to the famed Ahwahnee Hotel for a four mile round trip hike to Mirror Lake with spectacular reflective views of Half Dome. Optional refreshments at the hotel following the hike.

Friday evening.... Check into accommodations at Curry Village. The most convenient and central place to meet for dinner will be the cafeteria "Pavilion" in Curry Village. Other food and beverage alternatives within Curry Village include the Pizza Deck and the Curry Village Bar. We will gather for dinner in the cafeteria, with a suggested dining time between 6-9 PM.

Saturday morning.... Vernal/Nevada Falls.... We meetup (RSVP REQUIRED) at 9 AM in front of the cafeteria in Curry Village, walking from shuttle stop 15 at Curry Village to shuttle stop 16 at the trail head for the amazing "Mist Trail." Note option A and B in the hike description. Total round trip 4 to 8 miles, depending on the option selected.

Saturday evening.... We will meet again on the deck in front of the Curry Village cafeteria and bar with a suggested cocktail hour between 5-7 PM and dining time between 7-9 PM.

Sunday morning.... Pack up, check out, and park your car at the Yosemite Village parking lot. We will meetup (RSVP REQUIRED) at 10 AM at the Yosemite Village Visitor Center for a one plus mile walk to the base of Yosemite Falls.
As we depart the Park for our Sunday afternoon drive home, you may stop at the Bridalveil Fall parking area (if open) for the self guided half-mile round trip hike to the base of the falls to complete our Yosemite hiking experiences.

ABOUT LODGING IN YOSEMITE: You will be required to make your own individual reservations for accommodations while staying in Yosemite. The most convenient place to stay is the Curry Village Tent Cabins that provide bed and linens. The approximate per night cost for a tent cabin is $220 per night including tax. Each cabin can sleep 2 to 4 adults depending on the bed configuration. Cabins are available heated and unheated, with the heated cabins having an additional cost. Obviously the cabin cost can be shared. You will be required to post a first night reservation deposit, that is refundable if cancelled prior to seven days before arrival, and forfeited if cancelled within seven days before arrival. Another possibility, not as convenient to the trail heads, is the full service Yosemite Lodge. IMPORTANT, if you are planning to make this trip, you should make lodging reservations ASAP as reservations usually sell out.

Lodging reservations: 888/413-8869 or www.travelyosemite.com

ADDITIONAL NOTE: Yosemite is famous for its bear population. Camp Curry cabins have bear boxes for food and toiletry items. Do not leave such items in your vehicle.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Take the 5 Freeway north over the Tejon Pass.... take the 99 Freeway north to Fresno.... take highway 41 north through Oakhurst and Wawona into the South Entrance of Yosemite National Park. The Park entrance fee is $35 per vehicle, credit card only. The drive from the park entrance to Curry Village is almost a hour. Along the way, you will emerge from a tunnel opening to an iconic vista of the Yosemite Valley (with convenient rest stop parking lot) that may be the most photographed place on the planet!
