Salt Creek Beach Co-Ed Book Club (snacks)

Details

We will be sitting on the grassy slope instead of at the picnic tables as it will be easier to hear the discussion. We won’t have a table for the food. Just a blanket. Plates, napkins and plastic utensils are provided.

Our co-ed Book Club will take place on the grass above Salt Creek Beach, officially named Sea Bluff Park. Our host will be arriving early so come on down. Walk thru the tunnel. We will set up our beach chairs on the grass and the Snacks in the center of the circle.

Books of the month

Book 1: Title: Class Clown: The Memoirs of a Professional Wiseass
Author, Dave Barry (suggested by Kim)
This book is described as not only a memoir of the author’s life, but, “a vibrant celebration of a life rich with humor, absurdity, joy and sadness.” The author says that the most important wisdom imparted by his parents was never to take anything too seriously. This book is filled with proof that he learned the lesson well.
Book 2: Title: Man's Search for Meaning (suggested by Ron)
Author,: Viktor E. Frankl
This book details the author's experience in Nazi concentration camps during the Holocaust. It is about finding purpose and strength in times of despair. It was selected as a Library of Congress “10 Most Influential Books in America”.
