Macintosh Lake Sunset Cruise - Longmont Paddling Adventure + RED ZONE

Macintosh is a beautiful lake with stunning views of RMNP (Long's Peak) Meet on the water near the paddlecraft launching ramp. The map pin in this event page will take you directly to the best launching spot.

Meet on the water near the boat ramp area at Macintosh Lake. I'll be on the water - be sure to say hello! You'll be able to find me on a white touring board and I will probably be wearing my usual gray hat.

We'll vote as to whether we prefer a clockwise or counterclockwise route (mainly based on the prevailing winds) and then relax, have a laugh, and some refreshments. Sunset is at 8:30 on July 12th, which should be a real treat from the shadow of Longs Peak (if the weather cooperates.)

After-celebration is at: Red Zone (540 Main St., Longmont, CO 80501) so we can congratulate ourselves and each other on sheer amazingness!

Bring snacks, beverages, and personality. SUPs, Kayaks, Canoes, and all paddlecraft are welcome!

Note: Several have asked whether equipment or lessons will be provided. At this time, I am not equipped to offer rental or loaner gear, but I am happy to give a few basic pointers. In the spirit of building community, I am hoping others in the group are inclined to share their experience and advice as well.
