What we’re about

This group is for serious regular experienced motorbike riders (on bikes of 500cc & over) who enjoy getting out and about in SE Qld to explore the wonderful riding roads the area has to offer. We welcome Ladies & Gentlemen, young, old and in-between to come ride.
Rides are posted for each Sunday and midweek , and our aim is to have a small, close-knit group of riders that regularly participate.
We ride bitumen roads from the morning to early afternoon with a breakfast stop, plus shorter breaks as required. The more twisty roads we travel, the better. We don't ride off road. If this is of interest to you, please complete the simple application.
Please read the following info before applying.
There are currently four official ‘event organisers’, but any member has the opportunity to host rides to share with the group. Occasionally, we also organise multi-day rides and social dinners. A typical day’s ride would be around 6-12 riders.

Due to the group being smaller, we generally have a 'fluid' corner marking system, where each rider ensures that the rider following is aware of the next turn. If so, they continue; if not, they will stop and wait. Should the rider number be larger, the event organiser will advise at the start if a traditional corner marking system is preferred and a Tail End Charlie (TEC) is required.

*What does experienced level mean?
For the overall safety of the group and to keep the group reasonably coherent, all members and guests should ride a minimum of a 500cc motorbike and be able to
confidently ride and corner at or near the speed limit under normal riding conditions and after slowing down or stopping, accelerate to riding/legal speed quickly.
Membership & Fee
Membership to the group is currently only $20 each year which you can pay in cash on your first ride or message Steve for account details.
Your first ride with the group must be taken within 2 months of joining or you may be removed from the group to allow others to join who can ride more regularly.
In the first year of joining, the membership fee will cover a new member for the remaining part of the current year (i.e., from date of joining to the following end of February when fees are due again for continued membership)
The fees can be paid to Steve on an event day or via electronic funds transfer. Please contact Steve (the group organiser) for details.

Membership Guidelines
1. Membership is accepted tentatively for the first ride, so the new member and the group can assess suitability. After review, a final decision on ongoing membership is made.
2. Membership is open to those who have their own motorcycle. Membership will not be approved for riders or guests on scooters.
3. Members will need a suitably registered two-wheeled motorcycle of 500cc or larger.
4. Members must be suitably licensed to the class of motorcycle they ride. It is their own responsibility.
5. The minimum size motorcycle a member may ride on group rides is 500cc. This also applies to guests riding their own motorcycle.
6. Guest Riders
(a). Members may bring one guest per ride as a pillion passenger or rider. However, this may not apply for all rides. Please check individual rides for guest numbers allowed and pillion restrictions.
(b). The maximum number of times a member may bring the same guest riding their own motorcycle is 2 times. There is no restriction on the number of times a member may bring a guest as a pillion rider.
7. Helmet, Gloves, Boots, Protective Jackets and Long Pants are minimum recommended requirements during group rides.
8. Continued membership is dependent upon respect for all members, their privacy and respectful interaction with each other.
9. If a member has RSVP'ed for a ride and can no longer attend, it is both courteous and required that they change the RSVP status to “Not going".
10. If a rider decides to leave the ride at any stage, they will notify the ride leader before their departure.
11. If special circumstances prevent a member from attending rides for more than 3 months, they need to inform the group organiser to avoid cancellation of their membership.

Notwithstanding the above conditions, the organisers reserve the right (at their absolute discretion) to ask any person to leave any ride for acting in an inappropriate, and/or dangerous manner and not following directions to cease this behaviour.

Please also note inactive members (those not going on a ride reasonably regularly) will have their membership cancelled to allow:
1. new members to join in what is a limited number group and
2. reduce any ongoing administrative overhead incurred for managing this group.

Please contact a leadership team member for any questions or clarification on these terms and conditions for membership and group rides.
