Sunshine Social Hike 11/2: Painted Hills 😁☀️
Let’s enjoy a scenic social hike at Painted Hills! We will be hiking the Painted Hills Trails Loop in the Tucson Mountains.
This will be a 3.0 mile hike with around 344 feet of elevation gain and will take us about an hour and half to complete. From the trailhead, we follow the loop counterclockwise for the first 2 miles and then we will do a small excursion up a hill and (maybe) see a fun rock formation. From there, we cut a mile off the loop to connect to the south part and then back to the parking lot.
We will be starting introductions at 8:00am. After intros, we will begin hiking and return to the parking lot just before 10am (having taken our customary group picture at the halfway point, of course 😁)
Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles may be useful in the rocky parts. This trail is definitely rocky, and it’s very exposed, no shade.
The weather forecast right now calls for 63 degrees at the start and 73 by the time we finish, absolutely perfect for hiking! (Mostly exposed, so it will heat up with the sun, just FYi)
This is a dog friendly trail 🐶
No fee to park, if we have a full group we will need to be mindful at the trailhead (20-25 cars fit, if I recall from last time)
Brunch afterward is at Mojo Cuban Kitchen on Grant, I’ll get a count after the hike and get us a table on the patio.
