About us
SuperChess is a social chess night in Zürich where every piece you capture scores points.
Pawn 1, knight 3, bishop 3, rook 5, queen 9, and the king's 15 only goes to whoever wins the game. So you can lose a game and still win the round. Points add up over five short rounds on a live table on a big screen.
After round 1, the table splits into three sections by points, so you always play people on a similar score, and every section crowns its own winner. Complete beginners and club players are equally welcome. You don't need a rating or any experience, just know how the pieces move.
We're hoping to meet anyone in Zürich who likes chess, games or a good competitive evening: locals, expats, students, coworkers. Come alone or bring a friend; most people arrive solo.
At each event: boards and clocks are provided, rounds are 10 minutes + 5 seconds a move, drinks at the bar, and plenty of time to chat between rounds. Events are in English, Deutsch ist auch willkommen.
First table: Wednesday 4 November, 19:00, Coworking Lounge Tessinerplatz.
