About us

ADHD, anxiety problems, behavior problems, and depression are the most commonly diagnosed mental disorders in children. Estimates for ever having a diagnosis among children aged 3-17 years, in 2016-19, are given below:

ADHD 9.8% (approximately 6.0 million)
Anxiety 9.4% (approximately 5.8 million)
Behavior problems 8.9% (approximately 5.5 million)
Depression 4.4% (approximately 2.7 million)

Depending on definition, between 5 and 10 % of Adults suffer from chronic depression and anxiety.

For those of us who love children and partners with depression, we are often at a loss as to how to support them--not knowing if what we are doing is helping or aggravating. It may even be compounded by our own feelings of depression and anxiety.

Oddly enough, while there are support groups for family of alcoholics, cancer sufferers, elder-care, and more, there aren't many places where those who love ones with anxiety and depression can support each other, share heartaches , struggles, strategies, and successes.

This group is for us.

Most events will be virtual using zoom or google meet, but in person meetups are possible.
