Alligator Alcatraz - Vigil & Protest

SURE is hosting a bus run to the Big Cypress Detention Center Vigil Sunday March 15, 2026. The ride is free, but we ask if you are able to donate $30 to support future busses, it is appreciated. (You can donate here.) This bus makes it possible for people who otherwise could not attend, to join the vigil outside Alligator Alcatraz. Read more about the vigils at Freedom-Vigils.
As seats are limited, and we want to have as many people as we can, your intent to travel with us, once confirmed, is your RSVP. If you are confirmed and your plans change, please let us know so we can open the seat.
Bring food, water or snacks for the ride as the bus will not make stops for food. There is a bathroom on the bus and storage for chairs, banners and signs below the bus. Signs should be non-partisan and focused on opposition to ICE operations in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors.
· Bus pick-up is at Unitarian Universalist Sarasota at 12:00-12:15pm – be on time!
· Arrive at Alligator Alcatraz at 3:30pm, Vigil from 4:00–5:00pm, then back in Sarasota between 8-9pm depending on traffic.
