What we’re about
Surrey and Beyond Ramblers, aka SABRE, keep an eye on our website for all our walks [www.sabre-walkers.org.uk ](http://www.sabre-walkers.org.uk)
WE ARE OUT WALKING EVERY WEEK - LONG, MEDIUM AND SHORT WALKS IN LOVELY LOCATIONS - not all walks are posted on Meetup so keep an eye on our website.
We've been walking since 2011, having grown from an earlier 40+ group. Now we're an all-age group. Our 300 members mainly come from Surrey and South West London. Typically, we have 6 - 20 people on our walks - some trying us out via Meetup, but most from SABRE itself.
We're a friendly bunch and always offer a warm welcome to newcomers. You're welcome to come on three FREE introductory walks before joining as a full, paid-up member of SABRE.
SABRE is part of the Ramblers, Britain's premier walking charity. Membership will allow you to come on as many walks as you like with SABRE and 500 other local groups across the UK. Your subscription will also help to safeguard the footpaths and countryside where we all love to walk. Ramblers membership £41.00 per annum individual membership and £55.00 per annum joint membership, effective 2nd October 2023.
We're a charity so, unlike many other Meetup groups, our walk leaders won't ask you for a penny! They lead walks simply to share their love of the countryside and give something back to the group.
There's a choice of walks each weekend and often midweek too. You'll find everything from easy five-milers to much longer hikes. We also hold socials, long weekends away and walking holidays around the UK and abroad, but you can only see these once you join us!
