Glorious Godalming: Lakes, Rivers, Sculptures, Farms, Flowers & Cottages

Meet at 10.30 am
Leave for the hike at 10.45 am
Finish time: 17.45 pm (can be earlier depends on group pace)
This is a new hike for the group through some of Surrey's most scenic countryside. It's a long one so you need to be fit to attend, but well worth joining if you can
HIGHLIGHTS
Walk past a a plethora of quintessentially English countryside cottages, farms and houses
Gaze upon a unique set of horse sculptures perched on a hill top
The quaint and picturesque River Wey with its colourful barges
The delightful Winkworth arboretum with its amazing lake and boathouse
Walk past fields and gardens of bluebells and other flowers
Pass the field area called Pushkin place where Peter The Great once stayed
Farms with bee hives, Belted Galloway cows, Lelyn Sheep and Mangalitsa pigs
The Philips memorial park celebrating the life of the wireless operator on the Titanic

Ascent: 700 metres (Few steep inclines, but many smaller ascents)
Pace: Brisk
Time: Allow 7 hours for the hike, lunch, stops, sightseeing

Bring a packed lunch and plenty of water

There are toilets at the station. Our route is mainly in the countryside. Toilets are scarce
