THE WINSTON CHURCHILL HIKE

A very scenic countryside hike that takes us to the residence of Winston Churchill - Chartwell

Length: Approx 21 Km / 13 miles

Start time: 10.45 am

End time around: 17.30 pm (All timings subject to change & depends on walking speed of group, number of stops etc... We might finish a little earlier as well)

HIKE DESCRIPTION

Much of this walk is on the wooded Greensand Ridge running parallel to and just south of the North Downs. At various points in the walk there are views across the valley to these downs, contrasting with far-reaching views out to the High Weald from the southern escarpment.

The outward route is across the National Trust's Limpsfield Common, the High Chart (some of which is part of the Titsey Estate) and Squerryes Park.

LUNCH

Lunch break 30 to 45 mins at the House grounds cafe. There will be no time to visit the house. You can do that on a future visit.
