Donald Campbell: his Surrey Life
Details
This is the monthly meeting of the Leatherhead and District Local History Society.
The History Society writes:
The forthcoming History Society talk is at 7.30pm on Friday 17 October in the Abraham Dixon Hall of the Leatherhead Institute.
Colin Cobb will be speaking on "Donald Campbell: his Surrey Life"
Land and water speed record holder Donald Campbell lived in Leatherhead until his death in his powerboat Bluebird at Coniston Water in the 1960s.
The talk forms the climax to our current exhibition in the Leatherhead Museum on the Campbell Speed Dynasty. Colin has been one of our prime sources for this display and has a lifetime of interest in Campbell's story and the wider world of Speed Records.
This promises to be a fascinating talk. We do hope to see you there.
Non-members are welcome and pay a fee on the door. Doors open at 7pm for 7:30pm.
