The industrial revolution created both winners and losers. In this talk, we’ll hear about on three men who clawed their way to success during the industrial revolution - while their workers in both mills and mines endured lives of extraordinary hardship
Our speaker, Dr Frances Herd, has a PhD in history – and she has continued her historical research ever since finishing her thesis. Her talks have been very popular with our friends at Dorking Local History Group, and she has been an invited speaker at several conferences organised by the Imperial War Museum.
