Welcome to the first joint walk between Surrey Young Walkers and the Farnham Folklore Society! This one marks the start of the Farnham Folklore Society's exhibition at Brightwells (20th to 22nd October) as part of Farnham Craft Month.

Long term, the aim is to have walks which explore the great Surrey countryside, and share some tales of local legends and folklore along the way. Of course, what else are we going to kick off this collaboration other than the legend of Mother Ludlam?
We'll be telling you more about Farnham's own white witch on the walk, how she helped the people of Farnham, along with what happened to those who crossed her, and maybe a bit more about the cave and witches in general. The route is going to take us past Mother Ludlam's cave, along with a stop at Farnham Brewing Company's tap room, and over to Frensham Church before we head back to Farnham Station.
There's an option to head back to Farnham Station at Bourne Woods, shortening the walk to around 6-7 miles.
You can see that, and the full walk's hill profile here.
We've provided an automated estimate of the end time and this will be affected by many factors - please only use as a guide. The description above may also have specific notes on ending details.
