Thursley Nature Reserve Volunteering
Details
Please RSVP at our website (green button) and not here, thanks!
Come & do some voluntary habitat management with the Surrey Young Walkers for the wildlife at Thursley National Nature Reserve!
This is an externally organised event which we will be going along to.
Meet for 10am or a bit before at the meeting point detailed on our website once you've signed up. It usually finishes at 3pm, but please feel free to leave earlier if you would prefer.
We will be doing practical habitat management on Thursley National Nature Reserve. Bring your own mug for tea & coffee which will be provided. Bring work gloves, sturdy footwear, weather appropriate clothing which you don't mind getting ruined & a packed lunch. Tools will be provided. We are usually cutting down vegetation such as young pine trees & gorse, to allow the heather to grow & make space for rare species of ground nesting birds to nest. The chopped down vegetation is usually burnt on an open fire on the day.
Hopefully see you there!
We've provided an automated estimate of the end time and this will be affected by many factors - please only use as a guide. The description above may also have specific notes on ending details.
