Making the Most of MySQL with Modern SSDs

Details
When launching your MySQL database, how can you make sure you’re using the right tools and getting the performance needed for your project or service to succeed? In this session, Frank Ober will walk you through benchmarking of MySQL with SysBench using different mixes of DRAM and SSD storage.
Specifically, we’ll cover:
• The my.cnf settings
• Open source tools for determining I/O bottlenecks
• Trading off DRAM for storage
• MySQL 5.7 and what to expect from MySQL 8
Frank will show, not just tell, with a live cloud-based demo showing the capabilities of different storage devices available to you today. We’ll provide access to servers with Intel® Optane™ SSDs, so bring your laptops to try out what you’ve learned!
Join us for the latest Silicon Valley MySQL Group meetup.
