An Interesting Mashup of Some of Our Favorite Routes
Details
When I was putting together a route for today, I was thinking about Gamble Lane for some reason. I just love the view out toward Bandy Canyon, and I love the route that takes us to Bandy Canyon. However, that is not an ideal summer route, and furthermore, it's a fairly, long tough ride (that I'm not quite up to leading yet!). So instead of heading out toward Bandy Canyon, we will cross the foot bridge at Lake Hodges, another one of my favorite spots, and will continue on through the rest of the route (including Artesian/Zumaque - which we can always opt out of if we're not feeling it). In order to make the ride a worthwhile distance, we'll take an extra loop traversing some of my favorite RSF roads. A/B (Intermediate/Advanced) route: ~42 miles, 3000 ft

This will be my longest ride in over two months, so those that come with me will have to be kind! We will keep a steady but not blistering pace, and will regroup as necessary.
The Beginner (C) group will be starting out in the same direction, but will be coming down Del Dios for a nice ride through some of the quieter streets of RSF. I wanted to route this through Gamble Lane and the Hodges foot bridge also, but it came out on the long side. There enough hills to make that distance too challenging. Hopefully this 28 mile route will be just the right challenge (and is similar to our basic C route).
C route: ~28 miles, 2000 ft

The C group is always no drop and regroups generally more often than the A/B (but all groups are no drop). It is not forecast to be especially warm this weekend, but it has seemed a little dry so I would suggest two water bottles for both routes. Also snacks are advised.
Helmets, a spare tube and pump/CO2 canister are a must. I hope many of you can join us.
NOTE: We will be starting somewhat inland at our Rancho Santa Fe Road location in the new Vons Shopping Center. We meet back toward the Chase/Wells Fargo lots. There is a Starbucks there for bathroom needs (and ice cream, cake, and coffee shops there for yummy needs following the ride!).
