Come to a free Swift class and learn the basics of the Swift language with fellow Ruby developers.

We'll share our tips tailored for developers coming from Ruby / Ruby on Rails. It'll be a hands-on class; together we'll go through several code exercises that will lead to writing your first Swift app.

Your instructor: JP Simard is a developer working on Realm (http://realm.io/), A mobile-first database for Swift + Objective-C.

A Mac Laptop Installed with:

  • either OS X 10.93, the latest version of Mavericks or OS X 10.10, Yosemite (beta).

  • Xcode 6 beta 5. Released free by Apple on Aug 4. Download it below. You'll need to register it to install. https://developer.apple.com/swift/resources/
