What we’re about
Let explore the rivers in Southwest Michigan. They include Galien River, St. Joseph River, Paw Paw River, Black River, and Kalamazoo River. We can also paddle along the shores of Lake Michigan. We will also plan overnight trips to other rivers a little farther away.
We have added Hiking and Biking to the group to get us more activities. We will be planning hiking and biking events in SW Michigan.

We will take around a 3 mile hike between Round Barn and Tabor Hills, then we will stop at the Round Barn Estate for wine and/or food.
We will meet for the hike Round Barn Estate winery at 11:00. If interested, we will stop at Tabor Hills for a tasting during the hike.
I didn't realize that are having a Island Party this Saturday. There is a $5 cover.

Adventure on, winos and wanderersGet ready to hike, sip and wander the Mt Tabor Trails, sponsored by Honor Credit Union. With a little over 3.5 miles of beautiful trails meandering through the woods and vineyards, Mt Tabor Trails connects guests from Round Barn Estate and Tabor Hill Winery & Restaurant. The best part of these trails – taking your favorite beverage to-go is encouraged!
Trail Details
- Access the trails at either Round Barn Estate or Tabor Hill Winery & Restaurant
- Take Round Barn or Tabor Hill drinks on the trail - in fact, we encourage it!
- Variety of trail types – easiest, moderate, hardest
- Terrain types – field, woods, vineyard
- Cost = FREE
- No reservations are needed
- No max. group size for the trail
Bring a lawn chair. We normally sit on the side of the hill by a tree.

Let's Take a Hike.
We will do a 4 to 5 mile hike at Sarett Nature Center. The trails are easy.
We will meet in the parking lot by the trail head. There is a $3 fee to access the trails.Dogs are not allowed.

We may head to Vineyard 2121 for drinks and a bite afterwards.

Let's Paddle: Black River - South Haven
This will be an out and back paddle from downtown South Haven. Rentals are available. We will meet at 11:00 at Black River Park (123 Dunkley St, South Haven). We are planning to start to paddle at 11:00.
We will paddle up stream for a couple of miles then turn around and come back. This section of river is normally slow making it perfect for beginner paddlers.
For those bringing your own boats, the launch and parking is free.

(I would not make a reservations. They normally have plenty.)

Let's Bike: The Kal-Haven Trail
We will meet at the Kal-Haven trail head. We will ride out and back. I am hoping to do 12 miles total. We will stop at bumbleberry acres on the way back.
We will out afterwards for ice cream/bite/drinks.
