What we're about

SWmobile is mobile focused tech group based in the South West of England. Events are free, well-liked and give members an opportunity to meet and learn from other mobile professionals based in the area and beyond.

Who goes to SWmobile?

SWmobile is open to all regardless of technical knowledge or professional background, but at a typical meeting you can expect to meet some or all of the following:

- Experts/Speakers

- Mobile apps & games developers (individuals and agency)

- Apps & Games designs (individuals and agency)

- Entrepreneurs, Clients, Hirers, Employers

- Anyone with a personal, commercial or organizational interest in mobile apps

Why go?

We welcome you to South West’s only mobile focused App Developers & Designers meetup to discover new ideas, learn and share from collective experiences, network and then go for a beverage afterwards!

Check out our YouTube channel for some examples of talks we've had - video.swmobile.org (http://video.swmobile.org/)

Who's been a guest speaker at South West Mobile?

Professional developers, hobbyists, designers, mentors, enthusiasts, journalists, freelancers… the list goes on! We try and ensure a varied mix of speakers from meetup to meetup.

If you're interested in speaking at SWMobile please fill in our CFP here (http://cfp.swmobile.org/).

When/Where's the next meeting?

Meetings typically take place once a month - usually in the 3rd week of the month. Sign up to our group for automatic notification of the exact dates.

We try and split meet ups between Bristol and Bath, but if you want it closer to home then by all means let us know or volunteer to help organise.

What happens?

Evenings start with a short intro from the organisers, then a guest speaker or two, short comfort break then couple more awesome speakers, then we head to reserved area at near by pub and it's over to you for socialising and networking.

Code of conduct

10+1 year anniversary of SW Mobile

Needs a location

Way back in May 2012 Tom Spencer and I arranged our first meetup at the Watershed to chat and gather interest to see if we could start a regular meetup about mobile development, design and ecosystem-based in the South West. A couple of months later in July, we hosted the first talk night and the rest is history!

We missed the 10-year anniversary while the group was on hiatus after Covid so we're gonna go all in for this 10+1 anniversary.

This is a placeholder for the event and we don't have specifics yet but I'm sure it'll be an awesome and informal night with members and speakers past and present.

Save the date!
