Plant Life In Late Stage Capitalism: A Group Discussion

Basically a conversation about the roles of plants in the late stages of the capitalistic environment (& lack of environment)/hellscape.

Let's discuss the ways we can individually and collectively work with the Green World in lasting ways (saving seeds, cultivating woodland medicinals, collecting plant specimens from building sites....) Creating local groups to help raise awareness of pesticide/insecticide/rodenticide, etc, use, and any ideas y'all might have!

Let's take a moment and share how this system has traumatized us, let's help one another to heal or at least not feel so alone. Our goal is to help one another move forward & survive.

How can we continue to network outside of social media?

I'll be discussing ways I know of to use wild plants for food, health, and domestic uses, outside of the system. I have 20+ years experience in herbal healing/wild foraging, and I love to share.

Looking to bring together a mixture of folks to build our community, share/learn ways to exist in these difficult times. Possible 2023 skill share planning?

This gathering will be "led" (to the extent that makes sense for the group, though hopefully we all lead one another as we get flowing) by me, a member of the lgbqtai2s+ community, this will be a gender affirming space. BIPOC encouraged to attend. Trying to create a safe inclusive space for all to share. If you have any questions or concerns about this meetup, please feel free and welcome to message me. As a whyte cis femme, respectful input is (hopefully obviously) appreciated. I strive to learn and always become a better ally in this intersectional world.

Bigots of any variety will not be tolerated.

We will still be social distancing, please respect each other's space. Feel free to wear a mask, but ideally we can be spaced out enough not to want/need them.

Bring a notebook, a water & personal snack if you like. The moon will be waxing in Libra, which should be a great vibe for social gathering, even if we end up undecided on some things ;-)

Location will be sent to you all 2 weeks before the meetup. Yes, it will be dark outside if we stay til 7:30, but I wanted everyone to be free from rush hour traffic a bit, plus parking is free after 6. Bring a flashlight!
