What we’re about
FREE to join. And feel free to join our sister groups, the Sydney Conservative Book Club and Free Speech & Politics @ the Pub.
This group is designed for people interested in the ideas of conservative thought to come together for discussion. It is the sister group of the Conservative Book Club which focuses more on a specific book for in-depth discussion. Whereas this will be more focused on current topics and the social aspect.
We aim to draw together political & social conservatives by organising social/drinks and discussion networking gatherings.
We will also be visiting various conservative and Centre Right seminars and gatherings (our visits will include libertarian gatherings). In fact, we will even visit Left of Centre meetings to find out more about them and their ideas.
But the prime reason for this meetup is to bring together conservatives, to network and to strengthen their beliefs through conversation, ideas, seminars and readings.

See all- We Have Never Been Woke". Musa al-Gharbi's tour - Free Speech UnionThe Occidental Hotel, Sydney
I cannot book you in - you must purchase the $19 tickets here. We can all meet over dinner and drinks. I have been to events there before and it is a great venue.
From the Free Speech Union's website:
We are delighted to host Prof. Musa Al-Gharbi for a tour of Australia.
Musa al-Gharbi is a sociologist and assistant professor in the School of Communication and Journalism at Stony Brook University. His research primarily focuses on the political economy of knowledge production and the social life of scholarly and journalistic outputs. He is a columnist for The Guardian, and his writing has also appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Atlantic, and more. The events will be centered around his new book, We Have Never Been Woke". Musa al-Gharbi argues that the social justice language of 'inclusion' and 'equality' has too often been co-opted by well-educated elites and used to maintain exclusionary institutions and practices, arguing this ultimately protects the interests of the elites themselves, at the expense of the disadvantaged.
