Newtown is a truly diverse neighbourhood, and on this experience, you’re going to see and taste a bit of everything. You’ll start at the iconic "I Have A Dream" mural on King St, where your host will give you a run-down on Newtown’s history, colourful characters and development.

You’ll then set off to sample some of Newtown’s multicultural cuisine, with 4 food stops included. Cuisine options include Egyptian, Mexican (vegan), Turkish, “Australian” and more! Vegetarians and vegans are also well catered to – Newtown is famous for its numerous vegan-friendly restaurants.

Your host will point out some of the neighbourhood’s best street art as you explore the area and introduce you to the artists behind the works.
You’ll finish at a popular brewery for a shared tasting paddle or a glass of craft beer. Your host will point out several other restaurants if you’re still hungry, otherwise, enjoy a drink with your fellow guests.

Join a small group and enjoy a tasty three-course banquet at a bohemian cafe, Parliament on King. You’ll sample food from the homelands of asylum seekers and refugees (think Burmese/Rohingya, Iraqi, Iranian, Palestinian, Nepali, Sri Lankan, Ugandan and more).

Each dinner banquet has a different chef and menu, and we often keep it a surprise until the night. Your hosts will invite the chefs to share their stories, and you’re more than welcome to ask them questions about the food they’ve prepared and their stories of how they have come to Australia.

The dinner is hosted in the cosy front room of Parliament on King. Parliament on King’s mission is simple: to make lovely food. But in doing this, they address the barriers to economic, social and cultural participation that asylum seekers, refugees and recent arrivals to Australia face, by providing real work, training and community.

All proceeds from this event go towards funding Parliament on King’s important work.

Perfect for people new to town, solo travellers, couples, friends, non-drinkers, locals, visitors – anyone who wants a fun & unique afternoon or evening out.

Come with us as we explore some of Sydney’s best small bars with a fun group. Over 3 hours, your expert host will take you to 3 different bars, including ones that only locals know about. As we explore, you’ll learn about street art & see murals by some of Australia’s most famous and talented artists.

On Saturday afternoon, we'll be exploring some of Sydney’s best bars around Newtown and Enmore Road (recently voted as one of the coolest streets in the world).

After the tour, we’ll provide you with a map link to all the bars and places visited throughout the tour, plus some extra spots to check out.

Note this isn't a "pub crawl" with hundreds of people - we go to quality small bars that locals drink at (no sticky floors and no cheap shots). The maximum group size is 12 people, so it is perfect for solo travellers and people new to Sydney. The average age of guests is from mid-20s to mid-40s, but everyone over 18 is welcome.
