________

How to get into the field of data science ? A question asked by too many aspiring data scientists. This introductory level study group, following the book ‘Think Stats’ will teach you not only the basic statistical concepts and tools but also how to think like a data scientist. You will also learn how Python is used for data manipulation and analysis, in a structured fashion.

So join us every Thursday 6 PM to 8 PM starting 1st August for a 6 week course that DSAi has organised for anyone looking for entry into the wonderful world of data science. This is a rare opportunity to learn from industry experts and build a network within the community, an absolute essential for any aspiring data scientist. Its also absolutely free.

Seasoned professionals who want to brush up on their statistics knowledge are welcome too. Data scientists who have been using ‘R’ or any other language for modelling and are thinking about switching to Python can also benefit from this study group.

Learning in a classroom like environment with peers and great instructors is always more engaging than learning from online resources. Paul, the data scientist running this study group is a veteran with almost a decade of industry experience. There would be other experts as well like Syed Imam (data scientist with IoT background) and James Bailey (senior data scientist at Deloitte), available during the session to help you out and answer all your stats and Python questions.

Course summary and highlights:

Gentle introduction to statistics and python
Get your stats and coding questions answered by industry experts
Great opportunity to network with other aspiring and seasoned data scientists
Above all its free.

We highly recommend you purchase a physical copy of the book. A digital copy, with all exercise resources can be found at Allen Downey's site:
