Charming Mosaics in 2 Sessions

Join us for this two-session mosaic class. In this class, each student will create a mosaic using pieces of broken dishes, ceramic, tile, stone, beads, and bobbles. Available shapes include bird, heart, square, and circle. Students will learn how to safely cut and break plates for tesserae mosaic as well as learning about adhesives and how to use them.

The class will include everything needed to make a tesserae mosaic, such as china dishes, ceramic tiles, small glass pieces, charms, and beads. But, students are encouraged and welcome to bring any of your own favorite pieces you'd like to include in your work.

While this class is appropriate for beginners, please bring the following things if you have them:

Supply List:

• Tile nippers (please see photo if you aren't sure what that is).
• Mosaic fodder: Broken dishes, Granda's china that you aren't sure what to do with, Aunt Nellie's costume jewelry, charms, beads, broken doll parts, stones, shells, or whatever your creative heart desires.
• A box lid or metal tray with a towel, for breaking tile.

Session 2 will be held the following Wednesday, October 1st, when we will grout our work.

• If you attended last year's fall retreat and your mosaic still needs grout, please come to this second session to grout your work. There is no fee for past retreat participants for this grouting session. If you can't make it but have work from the retreat without grout, please talk to Cathy.

TACG Cancellation Policy:

Annual TACG Members - If you miss a session and do not cancel before the 48 hour window, you will still be responsible for all class fees.
Community members who have not paid annual dues: you are welcome to attend up to three events, two paid. Because we have no way to contact people who have not officially joined TACG other than through Meet-up, our policy is as follows: If you have not paid one week prior to this class or event, we reserve the right to cancel your registration and remove you as an attendee. This allows us to open seats for others, and respect the preparation needs of our instructors and facilitators. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
