The world might not be stable, but you can be. Tai Chi and Qigong help you get connected to your body and spirit through the power of focus. Join us in a Meet-up Saturday, Tuesday or Wednesday, open to any level. We get into slow, mindful movement, fascinating stretches, and feeling good. Find your own peaceful source for health and fitness. Saturday is Qigong-focused though we practice Tai Chi as well, while on Tuesday and Wednesday, we are more Tai Chi focused, learning the movements. Our goal is better health and a calm mind through these unique Chinese practices. TUE + SAT is ONLINE. WED IS IN PERSON.

Tai Chi and Qigong combine relaxed movement, deep breathing, and elements of Chinese martial arts. We also focus on building core-strength because that's the key to improving fitness.

In these meetups, we'll work on Qigong sets and Tai including:

  • Ba Duan Jin (Silk Brocade)
  • 5 Animals Qigong
  • Swimming Dragon
  • The Yang 24 Tai Chi form
  • Wu 108 form
  • And more...

These practices are intriguing, expansive, and unusual. Our goal is good health, better balance and coordination, and getting our mind and body moving together. We use this time to take a break from all the challenges clamoring for our attention. So join us.

North Sky Kung Fu is a center for Chinese Martial Arts, and you'll love our vibe. Our instructors have spent decades committed to the power of Chinese martial arts. They share their love of martial arts in every class. Sifu Julie teaches our online program. Our classes are free to try for a few weeks. If, after joining us a few times, you like our practice and our group, we ask for a contribution of $5 or $10 a class to support the school.

We're online for our Saturday Tai Chi and Qigong class, and you're invited. We start with a warmup, and then do Qigong first – simple movements then enhance concentration and help us relax. We work on the famous 8 Silk Brocade set. Qigong helps us breath deep and and work on balance and coordination. We move on to Tai Chi, focusing on simple movements and basics that make it easy for beginners to follow; more experienced people can work on adding depth to their practice. Please join us. You'll be surprised at how far and deep you can go online (with a little practice!) We use this class as a chance to focus on ourselves and our own bodies, away world events. Beginners welcome - do your best, follow along, and focus on feeling good. And join us for free. If you like our class, after a few weeks, we suggest a contribution of $5 or 10$ per class to support the school.

Tai Chi & Qigong - Livestream Tuesday

Our Tues Tai Chi + Qigong class is online and you're invited. Tuesday's meetup is oriented towards regulars who have tai chi experience - but if you're curious about Tai Chi you can always follow along or just do the warmup. We start our meetups with a Qigong warmup, then work on Tai Chi - both the Yang and the Wu 108 forms. We are now working on Tai Chi Sword.

Though Tai Chi online is a challenge, we do what we can and take our time and work specific techniques, focusing on building core strength, grounding, balance, flow, and more. We finish with a mindful moment of Qigong – the famous Five Elements or Swimming Dragon for example or another centering Qigong set. The class is approximately 45 minutes. It's a chance to focus on breathing and getting centered as you pay attention to your body and mind without distractions. Join us for free. If you like our class, after a few weeks, we suggest a contribution of $5 or 10$ per class to support the school.

THIS MEETUP IS NOW IN PERSON! It's so much better being live, and our Wednesday class is an all-levels class where we work on Tai Chi basics and feeling good. If you're in New York, join us! We start our meetup with a Qigong warmup, then work on Tai Chi. We finish with a mindful moment of of Qigong or meditation like the famous Five Elements or Swimming Dragon or another centering set. The class is approximately 50 minutes.

This meetup gives you space to focus - on breathing, on your body and mind, and on your health, without distractions. With the chaos in the world today, we think a time set aside to focus on our health and well-being is a necessity, especially in New York City. So let's be positive, breath deep, and move with awareness and balance. We're right on 28th Street off Sixth Avenue, and easy to get to.
