What we’re about
When it comes to creative writing, all writers know that the old “write what you know” adage can only take you so far. Eventually, you will encounter a gap in your knowledge and won’t be able to go on until you’ve found something out. So how do you go about finding, evaluating, and using information to fill that gap and create your best work? In this group, we’ll talk about the role of research in creative writing in a conversation geared toward writers of all levels and genres. You’ll have the opportunity to share more about your research process, including cool things you’ve learned and challenges you’ve faced, as well as learn from others. You’ll also get to hear tips and tricks on the information-seeking process. We'll start out with virtual meetings (most likely on Zoom) and talk more about meeting in person when/if people start to feel comfortable.
