Taking Pause: Your Self Care
As Scrum Masters, we are called to focus on the care and well-being of our teams, imploring team members to get some rest, take a break and create balance in their lives. We all know the agile principle of ‘Sustainable Pace’, and can see the tired eyes, slumped shoulders and disconnection in others as they burn the candle at both ends, and don’t live that principle.

When it comes to our own self care, however, we often ignore our body and mind’s signals that say it’s time to take a break and pause. Unfortunately, this disconnect from what we say to others and do for ourselves can create resentment, frustration and apathy, leading to burn out and other unhealthy behaviors.

During this session, we will explore the concept of self-integrity using 3 key components of self-care. We will give you time to explore the critical need for self-care and how to put into action these components to improve the relationship with your teams and yourself.

Give yourself the gift of this time to take a pause, and learn 3 essentials of self care.

Christy Erbeck

Passionate and empathic, Christy Erbeck is a strategic thinker who cares deeply about her relationships, both personal and professional. As a whole brain thinker, she intentionally operates at the intersection of business and the human experience, grounded in theory but guided by practical application. For the past 25 years, she has been an impactful and collaborative leader, who knows how to bring out the best in others. Christy holds several industry certifications, a master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, is a frequent keynote speaker, and co-authored Roadmap to Success, a compilation of thoughts from some of America’s top intellectual minds (Ken Blanchard, Deepak Chopra, and others) on mapping out successful business strategies, including understanding employee engagement to improve profitability.
