Ride Reopened Elfers Spur

Reopening Of Elfers Spur Extension! Let’s ride on newly reopened Elfers Spur off of Pinellas Trail, north Tarpon Springs and into Pasco County. This connection with new Pasco County trails opened a couple of weeks ago after being closed off for four years due to river erosion. This reopened trail connector provides access to Anclote River Coastal Trail.

We’ll ride est 22 miles. Let’s try average of 12-14 mph. We’ll ride to Key Vista Nature Park, Anclote Gulf Park, and Anclote River Park. If we’re lucky maybe we’ll witness some awesome views of rare Bald Eagle nest action.

Group will decide on lunch venue on return for those interested. There is a great, inexpensive tavern, right on the trail on the way back that we have been to in the past that had great food and is only a few miles from our starting point. Bring lock for your bike.

Please arrive by 8:45 am. so we can leave at 9:00 sharp.
Helmet required, Bright clothing suggested.

Be sure you inspect your bike the night before to ensure it is working correctly and the tires are fully inflated. You should bring liquids and a snack to stay hydrated and fueled to stay safe!
