June's Book: Consequences of Normal by Elle Baade
I know - the book has changed 3 times. I've read the first two (On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong & The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky) and will gladly discuss them if you wish.
When Consequences of Normal was recommended, I realized it was the most aligned to what the group wanted to read next. It took a few weeks, a lot of hunting and a bit of luck, and here we are.
On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong is exquisitely written, but not a book I would recommend without warning that there are disturbing descriptions of abuse and violence. Ocean is an incredibly talented author; his novel is as beautiful as it is disquieting. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a YA book. If you want a trip down high school memory lane, along with an excellent story, you'll likely be astonished at the things you may have, and probably should have, forgotten lol.
The Ride: Wall Springs Park to The Whitehurst Gallery, then Key Vista Park via the Elfers Spur + the Wall Springs Spur on the return.
*If it is particularly hot, we'll cut out the ride to the gallery, which will shave about 5.6 miles off the route.
