December's Book: The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson is the epic nonfiction story of the Great Migration. Reading Go Tell it on the Mountain inspired us to dig deeper into America's history between 1950 and 1970. Isabel Wilkerson wrote this highly acclaimed book using primary resources and over 1,200 interviews. The result is a riveting account of the greatest mass migration in U.S. history in which 6 million Black Americans left the South to create a more promising future in the north, midwest and west.
