What we’re about

Who?
The Tampa Bay EV Association,  is an all-volunteer organization that works to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the Tampa Bay area and to educate our community about the benefits of driving electric. We are a Chapter of the Electric Vehicle Association (EVA) of America. Our mission is to promote the transition to clean EV transportation in the Tampa Bay area.

What?
We will be showing our cars to the public, offering rides and sharing our own experiences driving EVs. If you own and EV or someone you know is considering buying an EV for their next vehicle and have questions, come over and meet us. You will have to opportunity to hear answers from real EV owners, not salespeople.

Why?
To keep global warming to no more than 1.5°C, emissions need to be reduced by 45% by 2030 and reach NET ZERO by 2050. According to the EPA Transportation represents about 1/3 of GHG emissions in the US. We have already started the transition to Electric Vehicles, but we need to pick up the pace.

We help you stay well informed. The current US Government goal of reaching 50% EV sales by 2030 is a step forward. This comes backed up with substantial incentives from the Infrastructure Act (potential for up to 500,000 EV charging stations to be deployed across the country) and the IRA (EV tax rebates). There are lots of myths and rumours out there. Help educate yourself and others.
