Wood Lathe Safety (Members Only)

This class covers basic operation and safety for the Nova 1624 II wood lathe and the Rikon slow speed bench grinder. You will learn how to sharpen turning tools using the One-way Wolverine sharpening jig, and the basic technique for mounting and roughing a spindle blank between centers. Other turning techniques and skills are not covered, and will be offered in subsequent courses.

Prerequisites: Students must have completed the Woodshop safety course.

This course is open to members only.

Note: closed toed shoes and appropriate clothing are required to enter the woodshop.
