Historical Maille - Discussion and Presentation
Details
Learn how chainmaille was made in the 1400's including the process of rivet setting. -- Our instructor, Ana, grew up doing living history faires with the Italian Renaissance Historical Society, and has since also joined the Society for Creative Anachronism. She started learning maille in the IRHS because they needed small, quick, people to do repairs during a show. From repairs, to learning how to create items for jewelry, she moved back to historical chain teaching herself how to rivet the links. She is currently making a copy a standard coif from the British History Museum.
This online event is free and open to the public.
