InkStitch 101 is an introductory course that covers basics of InkScape, InkStitch and Embroidery file optimization. Those completing this course will be able to create embroidery files in a variety of ways. Step by step examples show how to convert SVG files with InkScape/Stitch, optimize embroidery files and how to create SVG in several ways using InkScape/Stitch. Many more step-by-step examples discuss understanding: how to trace a line drawing, in/correct drawing techniques and the autotracing tool with full color imagery.
This class is for paying members of THS only. Participants should be comfortable using a Windows computer. Knowledge of InkScape is helpful, but not necessary. Following examples with InkScape/Stitch is strongly recommended, but documentation is sufficient for users to learn independently. Participants may bring their own laptops with InkScape ( https://inkscape.org/ ) and InkStitch ( https://inkstitch.org/ ) pre-installed. THS does have loaner laptops available for anyone who wants to borrow.

Recently he put this knowledge into a powerpoint presentation in order to teach the InkStitch 101 class to Tampa Hackerspace Members. Joe has a history of teaching others. He was a water safety instructor and swim instructor, has tutored high school mathematics and mentored junior engineers.
