Make a Cutting Board 101 (Members Only)

Details
Did you just get signed off on the bandsaw, jointer, and planer? Want to hone those skills making something beautiful that you can use every day? Join us as we turn a piece of rough lumber into a finished cutting board. The class will give you firsthand experience processing rough lumber, as well as working with wood finishes, to produce a beautiful workpiece perfect for giving as a gift. We will be making a large edge grain cutting board from a solid piece of sapele wood.
This class has a $80 fee for members. The class is available to paying members of Tampa Hackerspace who have completed both the Wood Shop Safety and Bandsaw/Jointer/Planer classes. Please pay the class fee at https://tampahackerspace.square.site/product/make-a-cutting-board-101/85 . Please note that you will be added manually to the attending list after a volunteer has verified your membership and your payment.

Instructor: Patrick Callahan
Patrick is a professional amateur, driven by a compulsion to make things and an unrelenting sense of curiosity. He has spent time in cabinet shops, but he is mostly self-taught. He has built his skillsets in woodworking, and making in general, through projects, projects, projects! Patrick has built some beautiful cutting boards, but his true strength is his ability to solve the problem in front of him, whatever that may be.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Closed toe shoes are required to enter the woodshop area. If you are not appropriately dressed, you will be asked to return for the next available class.
ATTENDANCE POLICY: As with all of our classes, the following attendance policy is in effect. By signing up for this class, you are acknowledging this agreement.
