RF Meetup
Details
We are kicking off a weekly meetup for all things related to RF, including Amateur Radio, ISM-band IoT, spectrum sensing, direction-finding, and even passive radar. The "Gerig RF Station" (named in honor of John Gerig, whose estate has donated a broad spectrum of equipment to THS) is currently located in the SouthEast corner of the classroom, and includes a variety of HF/VHF/UHF radios and SDRs.Our weekly meeting will support both individual and group projects and learning. Current project include:
- Working through permissions so we can mount antennas at the space (including an 80m dipole and a 900Mhz antenna)
- Building the content to support a regular "Intro to SDR" class
- Establish a resilient LoRa infrastructure to support participating in community mesh networks (including Meshtastic, Meshcore, and Reticulum)
The RF Station custodian is Cam Hunt, and is supported by Cooper McKinlay.
